Gaffney, South Carolina always has Peaches! Peaches is the city’s beloved mascot. An adventurous cat named for Gaffney’s rich peach farm heritage. History is equally as important for adults and kids alike. The City of Gaffney is dedicated to informing and teaching children Revolutionary War history. Peaches was first featured in Peaches, on the Trail, a book that tells local Native American and Revolutionary War history. The second book in the series is Peaches, on a History Hunt. In this book Peaches travels to historic places, monuments and markers in Cherokee County. The third of the series, Peaches, on Parade, tells the history of peach-growing families in Gaffney, SC.
