About Gaffney Municipal Court

Gaffney Municipal Court is part of the statewide unified court system. Municipal Clerk of Court Tammy Humphries oversees the daily operation of the court and its staff. We have three Judges who oversee traffic/criminal court and bond hearings. Judge Joseph Johnson, Judge Kaye Allison and Judge Collis Edwards. The goal of the Municipal court is to serve our citizens with a fair and impartial trial.

The Municipal Court is one of limited jurisdiction, hearing only misdemeanor criminal cases, as well as traffic cases carrying a maximum fine and sentence of $500 or 30 days in jail, plus certain other cases as authorized by the South Carolina Legislature.
